Donald Pitschel
A fresh face to the singer songwriter night at the
Rite Spot. He has been writing songs for a decade and is ready to
play to more audiences. Donalds music takes you inside
a river bed of ideas that relates to the unusual usual
human forces we reconcile within our lives.
The Lowdowns
www.thelowdowns.com
"The Lowdowns write songs that at once evoke desert and deep swamp.
Their minimalist, hard grooving arrangements are at times lush and
dreamy, at times hard-driving and funky. Rooted in jazz with
influences of delta blues, soul, gospel music, and bluegrass,
they navigate a myriad of genres, twisting and parodying them into a
sound that is uniquely their own. The Lowdowns are Christie Winn
(vocals, fender rhodes, wurlitzer, piano, melodica, percussion) and
Steve Bissinger (guitars, lap steel, banjo, percussion, backing
vocals)"
Tony Mattioli.
www.stolenbibles.com
Long standing, (though sometimes sideways) Bay Area
musician. Leader of the Stolen Bibles, the Fillmore
Blues Foundation, and S & L Music. Through 15
years of local performances and touring regionally and
internationally, Tony's palette for all American music
and stories from all walks of life bring his songs a
cinematic quality. Telling stories of bank robberies,
big rig crashes, and the faint whisperings of the
Devil herself his blues soaked
aesthetic, and gun slinger chops always make a night
of stolen bibles music a thrill
David Starlight

Sings music that moves closer to the art world than
the modern music industry. He finds kinship amongst
paniters, poets, and acoustic troubadours. Ala
Dylan......... but he grew up learning how to sing
with U2 and Radiohead records. He comes highly
recomended if you are an avid reader.

"We might stretch comparisons to Elliott Smith or Simon
and Garfunkel when we hear such impeccable guitar work and such
longing, tender lyrics. Pretty much as lush as the singer-songwriter
thing gets."
www.mericlong.com
"Sweet baroque pop for fans of the Left Banke, The Church (at their
most jangly) Simon and Garfunkle (in an indie style) and Starflyer
59 (only prettier). This is a perfect merging of old pop meets the
new pop! Sublime and highly recommended!"
