Helen Chaya
www.folkdiva.com

...HELEN CHAYA's album boasts exactly the kind of edge
and grit-in instrumental sound, singing style, and lyrics-needed
to counter the sentimentality that sometimes infects the folk genre."

Pat Johnson
A vastly underappreciated singer-songwriter, Pat Johnson conveys
bucketloads of emotion through his dusty-warm voice, laid-back
countrified rhythms, and lyrics that catch you off guard. Built on a
mostly acoustic foundation, the music's low-key, yes, but
theundercurrent is enticingly sharp.
-Kurt Wolff

Mica Lee Williams
www.micamuse.com
Known for her captivating vocals and dynamic sound, Mica Lee
Williams compositions catch the attention of even the most
discerning music lover. Her style is a mixture of classic rock and
modern folk combined with thought provoking poetic lyrics that
carries momentum that speaks to the human spirit.

Aaron Gomes
www.vernalfalls.com
For about four years, Visalia, California native Aaron Gomes sang
and played guitar in a unique indie rock band called The Playroom.
After exhausting the formula he began developing his finger picking,
slide, and alternate tuning techniques, leading to the birth of his
current focus, Vernal Falls. Vernal Falls is Aaron
making his best music; both solo and with friends. The music of
Vernal Falls is often compared to finger style greats such as John
Fahey, M Ward, Leo Kottke, and Nick Drake. Aaron self-releases all
of his music, allowing him total musical, distributing, and
scheduling freedom. Aaron is a touring musician and school teacher,
creating his own path.

Brad Brooks
www.brad-brooks.com
San Francisco singer songwriter, pop alchemist, Brad Brooks has a
big voice and he intends to use it for dastardly good. It's Freddie
Mercury dating Leonard Cohen. With tales of ex-stripper librarians,
manic tourists and loons of altitude, his is an extraordinarily
unique perspective on a city and its delightful debauchery.

His elaborate west coast baroque sound, rocks, pops and breaks your
heart in all the right places. Either solo or with his band "The
Klickitat Band Camp", Brad's brand of psychedelic persuasionmoves
from constructed pop anthems, through Jacques Brel-esque satirical
waltzes, to intimate guitar
ballads. "Brooks takes notes from pop fiends like Guided by Voices
and Elliott Smith, but still holds old school syrup-mongers like
10cc, Badfinger, XTC, and Smile-era Brian Wilson close to his chest"
Since the release of his debut "Sanctified Into
Astroglide" Brooks has been performing through out the SF Bay area
and is working on his follow up due out in June'05, as well as
touring solo in the UK last October, and recently opening for Lisa
Loeb.

Dena Connolly: As front lady of local indie pop trio Giant Value,
Dena stands on her toes, and plays with moxie. Solo, aka "Lesser
Value," Dena plays guitar, piano and some ukulele; the songs are
still tightly wound and full of hooks. Listen to this to be
reminded that everything is eternally beautiful and all right.
www.giantvalue.net

"Our Lady of the Highway's Dominic East writes unabashedly romantic
songs. Mostly, he sings about the point when the romance has gone
bad and you're left to lick your wounds and heal up for the next
doomed love. In the hands of less-skilled bands, this kind of stuff
sounds hackneyed and whiny, but Our Lady of the Highway breathes
life into the same old lonely-hearts complaints.."

www.ourladyofthehighway.com

"Anton Barbeau crafts one hell of a pop song. Be it an assignment
for a songwriting class ("Dig My Pig") or a retelling of Roman
Polaksni's Repulsion ("Jane too Soon"), Barbeau can go-go-go. The
ditties are slight, some little more than two chords bouncing back
and forth. The lyrics, too, are sweet and odd and tasty -- just the
right mix to leave you singing along after only a listen or two. By
no means do I intend to cast aspersions on simplicity. I love
simplicity. Some of my best friends are simple. And Barbeau knows
that simple and pop are a potent mix. Barbeau's taking it back,
doing it old-school. These are '60s style bubble gum pop songs like
1910 Fruitgum Company used to do."

Miss Henry

In Amsterdam she was "dubbed the Queen of the Vondel Park for her
full throated open air singing" Time Out Magazine, while Orr (Ear)
music magazine called her voice a "deep rich voice not to be missed"
when singing with the Dutch band First Contact. In Europe, MISS
HENRY sings with Charlie Hunter, Christian Mc Bride to Kenny Drew
Sr. and Clark Terry. While her focus is jazz and blues she flows
into soul standards in her current shows. But her stand up comedy
is what keeps audiences entertained between songs as no singer takes
herself less seriously when doing swim solos on the bar stool for
visuals during piano solos. Her shows are all about having fun and
making good music.

Meric Long (opening)
Ann Marie
Sanchez

"We might stretch comparisons to Elliott Smith or Simon
and Garfunkel when we hear such impeccable guitar work and such
longing, tender lyrics. Pretty much as lush as the singer-songwriter
thing gets."
www.mericlong.com

Ann Marie

Everything Sanchez has done bears his highly individual touch and
Sanchez has done just about everything. He was already an all round
performer when he quit high school to play in a St. Louis
speakeasy. He played the banjo in his brothers orchestra
and "spelled" his father at the organ. Hired as a replacement as a
pianist of Isham Jones' orchestra, Sanchez became an arranger. His
works were played by such leading bands as Whiteman's, Goodman's and
Kostelanetz; he created glowing scores for Paramount and has become
musical arranger for various NBC shows. He plays 'live' once in a
blue moon, catch him if you can.

Octomutt and Friends

"Octomutt are Ted Savarese and Ashley Adams and they weave
meandering guitars and slinking loops with an easygoing anchor of
standup bass. There's a definite down home, earthy feel to
Octomutt's music -- seeming very casual and off the cuff -- however
an occasional detour into more trippy, eccentric territory is
certainly not out of the question."
